Police launched a murder investigation after a 48-year-old man and a teenage girl died after being found with serious injuries in a house.
Officers were called to Sible Hedingham, Essex, at about 10am on saturday.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the girl died in hospital.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Police attended a house and found two people with serious injuries. The ambulance service and Essex Police attended and gave emergency medical assistance to a 48-year-old man and a 16-year-old young woman at the address.
"The 48-year-old man died at the scene. The young woman was airlifted to hospital where she later died from her injuries."
